"Follow Me Home" is the fifth song from Arlo the Alligator Boy. It is sung by Bertie and Arlo as the former reveals her background of having no place to call home and is always moving on, while the latter encourages her that she's better than she thinks. It was also the first single released for the film.
Lyrics[]
Bertie:
When I look to the ocean, it feels like home
Wish the waves could follow me everywhere I go
But I can't move with it, one thing I know
Is that I, I'm meant to be alone
Follow, follow, follow, follow me home
If it don't, it'll be alright
I'll be gone in the morning light
Follow me
Follow, follow, follow, follow me home
Hangin' on to the last of time
Can't imagine the moment's mine
So I'm alone
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Ooh-ooh...
I have felt burning stares and judging eyes
Certain they only see just my outside
I'll never be for them, that's clear to me now (To me now)
My home is where I'm by myself
Arlo:
Ooh, yeah, yeah
Look at me, look at you
Don't you see we can move with it?
Take my hand, I'm here today
It's a chance, leap of faith
What it be, what we do with it
Without you, I lose my way
Bertie: (Arlo:)
But I can't move with it (Move with it)
One thing I know (One thing I know for sure)
Is that we'll...
Bertie and Arlo:
Never be alone!
(Follow me)
Follow, follow, follow, follow me home
Bertie: (Arlo:)
Everything's gonna be alright (Everything is gonna be alright)
I can see it through the ot-

Take it now 'til the end of time ('Til the end of time)

Ye-ah-eh!
Bertie:

Arlo:
Ooh, yeah, follow me home!

Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
Arlo: (Bertie:)
It's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright! (Follow me)
Bertie:
(Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh)
You can follow me
Arlo:
You can follow me, yeah

You can follow me

Bertie:
Follow, follow, follow me home...
(Instrumental)
Follow me home.
Trivia[]
- The amount of glowing light across the water gets progressively brighter as more characters join, which also reflects on Bertie gaining confidence over the course of the song.
- The gestures and motions done by Bertie represent her doubtfulness before slowly becoming confident:
- When Arlo begins his verse, Bertie is walking away from him before she bends down to his eye level. Then during the chorus, Arlo jumps up to Bertie's eye level and Bertie holds him at her eye level.
- At the beginning, Bertie sees a seagull and is lonely, representing she doesn't feel "free" and is afraid of letting her guard down. At the end, she opens up to her friends and "flies" with the seagulls flying overhead.
